In a major robbery from a home in Navelim, thieves got away with goods worth 20 lakhs. The owner, Asif Sheikh said that that family has been away the entire day due to a function and returned late night. “We noticed the mess. We ran and checked all the rooms. 9 pairs of gold bangles, 2 chains, silver biscuit, cash worth 1 lakh, new clothes, 1 camera, were taken. Margao Police arrived immediately but the dog squad came late,” he said.
He said that the thieves cut the bathroom window and entered. He complained that the area has no proper street lights and Councillors only come at the time of elections.
