 Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant asserting that around 300 people have become self reliant in Assonora Panchayat under the mission Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa said Swayampurna Mitra’s have taken good initiatives to help locals to get Swayampurna in every field. We have to contribute to make Goa Swayampurna while celebrating 60 years of liberation. We need to reach the last person of society and our government works on Antyodaya principle, irrespective of caste, religion and creed,” he added.

       Dr Sawant was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Mega Health and Medical Equipment Donation Camp under Atmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa in association with Rotary Club Mapusa at Assonora Bus Stand today

        Chief Minister appreciating the Rotary Club of Mapusa , Inner wheel club of Mapusa and Swayampurna Mitra, Smt. Isha Sawant for taking initiatives  towards making Assonora Village Panchayat Swayampurna said we have launched various schemes and it’s the duty of Panchayat members and youth to make awareness about the Government schemes and help people to get benefits of every scheme provided by the Government.

       Shri Nilkhanth Halarnkar, MLA in his address said that the idea conceived by the Government in appointing Swayampurna Mitra is infact a decisive step to reach out to the needy people under the Mission Swayampurna. He lauded the work of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant during the Covid 19 Pandemic and admired the initiative taken by CM during the critical situation when Tauktae cyclone hit Goa.

        The function was also attended by, Smt Isha Sawant, Swayampurna Mitra, Shri Siddesh Kotkar Rotary Club Mapusa President, Smt Rajavi Mahabal Inner Wheel Club president Mapusa, Shri Haroon Ibrahim, Smt Sapna Mapari and all Panch Member.

          The Mega Health and Medical Equipment Donation Camp covered Blood Sugar Checkup by Shri Clinical Labs, Mapusa, Eye Checkup and Cataract Detection by Asilo Hospital and all those detected with cataract will be facilitated for free Cataract surgery. The camp also covered Blood Sugar check by Shri Clinical Labs, Mapusa; Free Spectacles  for needy senior citizens by Mukta Opticians, Mapusa, Blood Donation camp conducted by Goa Medical College Blood Bank.

         The Rotary Club Mapusa Elite & Inner Wheel Club of Mapusa has donated items such as Wheelchairs, Blind Stick, Walker and Walking Sticks for needy people. Similarly, Inner Wheel Club Mapusa have donated Atta Chakki machines to Women Self Help Groups and Agarbatti Manufacturing Machine was donated by Lodge Haig Brown 3829 EC to Self Help Groups which will help SHG members to start their own Business and become self-reliant . The camp has also facilitated people to register for PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) by SBI.

Smt Isha Sawant welcomed while Shri Siddesh Kotkar proposed the vote of thanks.
