Responsible Netism a social purpose initiative has been committed to the cause of child online protection in Maharashtra and Goa. The initiative advocates for cyber – wellness to ensure children’s mental well-being in cyber space. Having successfully educated over 1.5 million children and 0.7 million adults since inception, we educate and empower children youth and adults about responsible online behaviour, thereby equipping them to combat online distress. Responsible Netism runs a pan-India CYBER WELLNESS HELPLINE to provide legal guidance and psychological support to victims of online distress.
Cyber being the new weapon, violence in cyber space often impacts mental well-being of victims and their families. Various forms of threats ranging from morphing, stalking, solicitation of children for sexual purposes, online grooming, have grave consequences on the victims especially on children, disturbing their psychological and emotional health. Rise in the usage of technology has also led to internet-based dependencies that need timely interventions, guidance and healing. Maintaining mental well-being in cyber space is a mission we wish to promote and advocate for, in order to build cyber resilience and minimize the damage caused due to online distress.
The holistic solution to online distress is Cyber Wellness. Cyber wellness is the well-being of internet users in cyberspace. It focuses on the preventive aspect of equipping netizens with the knowledge and skills for positive and safe usage of the internet and also provides support during online distress, thereby building cyber resilience. Responsible Netism takes pride in launching India’s first Cyber Wellness Centre in Goa to provide holistic preventive and curative services related to online distress at the centre, supported by the Government of Goa.
