The Ostorachem Fest -. Womens’ Festival will be held on Sunday 22nd May from 11 am to 3.00pm in Madkai, Ponda, Goa.
This inclusive fest would be the 52nd fest curated by Marius Fernandes, Goencho Festakar, will be a celebration of women, as 2022 is a National Girl Child Year. Gender discrimination is a major issue that Women face throughout their lives so this Festival attempts to bond 51 Women in a safe environment to discuss personal issues. Women from across the state will be meeting for the first time in getting to know each others’ culture and share knowledge and ideas with the hope of helping each other economically and empower each other . Women will be from diverse communities.
The fest will include a workshop on making “Donne”, cooking khotkhotem, a heritage food of Goa. There will be a Bolcaocho Gozzalli with eminent personalities from across Goa. Two unique features of this fest will be a Human Library and Zero Waste Drive where women will be encouraged to bring their own plates, cups, spoons, etc which will ensure that this fest is truly Zero Waste.
