Reducing prices of fuel and other commodities is just a political stunt, will come on roads if panchayat reservation are not done properly. No need for a second Raj Bhavan in Goa , having a second Raj Bhavan has some hidden agenda – Sankalp Amonkar
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Sunday said that the recent mover of the Government to reduce the prices of fuel and other commodities was just a political stunt.
Amonkar speaking to reporters after inaugurating a free Homeopathic medical camp at Baina said that he will agitate and people may come on roads if panchayat reservation are not done properly.
” The prices of fuel and commodity has already sky rocketed and price of a gas cylinder has gone from 360 to over 1000 and yesterday the Government has taken a political stunt by temporarily reducing prices of Fuel and this reduction of price will not remain for long. The already increased prices of vegetables and other commodities that have become expensive because of fuel prices will not ho down now and this stunt will not benefit the locals. This is just a gimmick for elections and petrol prices had gone from Rs 60 to above Rs 100. The government must get the prices of fuel back to Rs 60 again if they are so concerned about the people ” said Amonkar
” Whenever there is injustice on people , I will always stand with them because we have taken agitation across Goa in the past for issues like this. In case the Government tries some tactics for the reservation of wards in the panchayat elections, then I will definitely agitate and protest along with the people for justice ” said Amonkar
Amonkar also added that there was no need for a second Raj Bhavan in Goa and that having a second Raj Bhavan could have some hidden agenda.
” The people are struggling and they are not getting the benefit of so many schemes launched by the Government and people don’t get educational loans , benefits of Laadli Laxmi, Gruha Adhar etc which have been pending since years. When the local people are not getting these benefits, what will they do with a new Raj Bhavan and who will benefit from the new Raj Bhavan. We don’t need a second Raj Bhavan and in case they are laying the foundation of a new Raj Bhavan at the same location, there could be a hidden agenda of giving the existing Raj Bhavan to a hotel . A new Raj Bhavan is not the priority and it’s important that people be given benefits of schemes ” said Amonkar.
” Raj Bhavan has a long history and is the most beautiful heritage building of Goa with view of Arabian sea. Government is out to interfere in heritage buildings and we have seen how Vasco MMC building which was a heritage building has been destroyed and antiques furniture and wood worth crores of rupees has gone missing in the guise of repair works. Such building must only be renovated and not repaired. Worst is that the MMC building has flooded and the Chairperson is blaming tbe contractor and this is a very irresponsible and wrong statement. ” Said Amonkar
