Aam Aadmi Party urges CM to provide relief to Goenkars, welcomes lockdown extension

Aam Aadmi Party today urged the CM Dr Pramod Sawantonce again to provide relief to Goans while concurring with Chief Minister’s decision to extend the lock down till 31st May. The party pointed out that they were asking for an extension of the lockdown which has finally happened.
AAP Goa Convenor Rahul Mhambre while concurring with the decision urged the chief minister to follow the Kejriwal model of helping people affected by the virus and extend the facilities to Goans which are already provided by Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi.
It may be recalled that in Delhi the government has announced a compensation of Rs. 50,000 to the family of any person who dies due to covid, free education up to the age of 25 to children below the age of 18 who have been orphaned due to covid along with a monthly dole of Rs. 2,500, Rs. 2,500 to be provided every month to family whose bread earner has died due to covid and free ration of 10 kgs to every ration card holder in Delhi for the month of May.
Rahul while demanding that similar facilities be provided to Goans also urged the chief minister to consider the sorry plight of motorcycle pilots, small businesses and vendors and provide some relief to them also.
It must also be noted that Grihaadhar payments have been stalled as well. This along with a petrol price of 91 rupees a litre have added to the woes of Goenkars.”It’s absolutely insensitive of the CM to ignore the Grihaadhar payments and to add salt to the wounds of Goenkars by not intervening in the price rise of petrol” stated Adv Pratima Coutinho AAP Goa VIce President
