PANAJI: Adv Jitendra Gaonkar from Porascadem, Pernem on Wednesday joined Goa Forward Party (GFP).

He was admitted in the party by GFP supremo and MLA Vijai Sardesai, party MLAs Vinod Paliencar and Jayesh Salgaonkar, working president Kiran Kandolkar, general secretary Mohandas Loliencar and Deepak Kalangutkar.

Vijai made a scathing attack on Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar and alleged that there is State-sponsored terror in the Pernem constituency and complete collapse of law and order. He further charged that police machinery is used to harass political opponents in the State.

Referring to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s two-day visit to Delhi, Vijai demanded to know why the Chief Minister did not meet advocates defending Goa’s interest in the Mhadei river water diversion matter before the Supreme Court.

Paliencar, Salgaonkar, Kandolkar and Loliencar also spoke. They appealed to the people to put an end to terror in Pernem constituency by electing local Adv Jitendra Gaonkar in the next Assembly elections.

Adv Gaonkar thanked party leaders for admitting him in the party fold and reposing faith in him. “My aim is to put an end to jungle raj in Pernem constituency,” Adv Gaonkar said after party leaders announced that he will be a GFP candidate for Pernem constituency.
