All India Consumer Price Index released on the basis of 2012 = 100

1. The Office for National Statistics and Statistics and Program Implementation Ministry for the month of May (temporarily) 2012 = 100 , or based across India Consumer Price Index ( on CPI) and rural ( R) and urban ( U) and combined both ( C)   related to the customer dhanyadara Index ( CFPI) are announced by a letter. Consumer Price Index ( CPI) for groups and subgroups across India as well as States and Union Territories has also been released.

2. A total of 114 urban markets and 1181 rural markets in all the States and Union Territories were visited weekly by the staff of the National Statistics Office and the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation. In May 2021 , 99.7% of rural and 97.7% of   urban markets were visited and rates were recorded. According to the markets, 68.1% rural and 67.5% urban rates were recorded.

3. Inflation Index for the whole of India based on General Index and Consumer Grain Rates (point to point basis i.e. current month and same month of last year e.g. May 2021 and May 2020) are given below
