Former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and current Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, who has recently been appointed as party’s election in-charge in poll-bound Goa will be in Goa tomorrow, September 20 to discuss party’s strategy for the ensuing 2022 Legislative Assembly elections.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh, both of whom are co-incharge for the State polls; and BJP Goa Desk In-charge C T Ravi will also be in the State on a two-day visit starting tomorrow morning.

The senior leaders will take stock of the overall situation in the run-up to the Assembly elections, slated to be held in the next 3-4 months. During their two-day visit, the team will hold discussions with Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, cabinet ministers, party MLAs, leaders, office bearers and karyakartas to offer necessary guidance as a part of poll preparations in Goa. The team will also hold separate discussions with various committees of the party including women’s wing, youth, minorities, OBCs, etc and guide the booth level workers.

Fadnavis’ vast experience in handling elections will be beneficial for the BJP in Goa. From 2014 to 2019, he successfully led Maharashtra as its CM. He is known for his eloquence, diligence, and great leadership qualities. He played a key role as party’s in-charge of the Bihar assembly elections.

Considering the cultural, social and geographical similarities between Goa and Maharashtra, the appointment of Fadnavis as election in-charge will definitely benefit the party in the State.

Union Minister of State Kishan Reddy has been elected to the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad. He was elected as an MLA in the 2014 Assembly elections. He is the Minister of State for Development in the North-East Division of Arts and Culture and Tourism.

Union Minister of State Darshana Jardosh has been elected to the Lok Sabha from the Surat constituency. She reached the Lok Sabha first time in 2009. The MP is currently in charge of the Ministry of Railways and Textiles.
