In a shocking incident, a burglary took place inside the Mapusa Mhambledar premises. One of the notary stalls within the precincts was broken into and the thief got away with Rs 10,000 in cash.
Shop owner Sudesh Hasotikar stressed how a Government building could be broken into and complained at the lack of security. He pointed to the alleged illegal hutments in the fields near Bodgeshwar temple. “Our MMC, police, should keep an eye on their activities. No one looks into this. Mapusa has a lot of beggars.”
