The Goa Branch of Western India Regional Council (WIRC) of The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) hosted its Sub Regional Conference at Vivanta Taj, Panaji.
Minister for Transport & Panchayat, Shri Mauvin Godinho in his inaugural address appreciated the role of the Chartered Accountants in the National building. He said the Goods & Services Tax Act has evolved into one nation, one tax & Chartered Accountants have played a crucial role in its development. He informed that he had already initiated implementation of Accrual based Double Entry Accounting system in goan panchayats and expected that the goan CA’s can play a major role in the same under the guidance of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He appealed to members of ICAI to do a bit more so that India becomes a developed country soon.

Secretary of Goa Branch, CA, Shri Milind Shirodkar proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was followed by four technical sessions covering various aspects of GST & Income Tax. Senior Chartered Accountants and Newly qualified Chartered Accountants were felicitated on the occasion.
