Chief Electoral Officer, Shri Kunal, IAS handed over EPIC card prepared by Election Commission of India to the Governor of Goa Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai at Raj Bhavan today.

The CEO briefed Hon’ble Governor about COVID safe voting guideline procedure adopted by Election Commission of India and the preparations made for the same at the polling stations. He further briefed about the new initiatives of Eco-friendly elections wherein various Eco-friendly materials like bamboo bins, coconut shell paper weight, pin holder, paper pens are being used in voting system, system of absentee voters wherein 80 plus citizens and PwD voters have casted their vote through postal ballot at their home with elaborate arrangements  from ROs among other initiatives.

Hon’ble Governor appreciated the efforts of Election Commission of India in reaching out to voters through different mediums and conducting safe elections during COVID pandemic.

Hon’ble Governor  will cast his vote in the ensuing General Assembly Election for Goa 2022 at Government Primary High School Dona Paula Polling Booth in part no 15 in 12 – Taleigao Constituency.

Ms Mamu Hage, IAS, Addl Collector, North, Smt Aisha Vaingankar, Jt CEO,              Shri Eshant Sawant, RO, Smt Shama Arondekar and BLO were present on the occasion.
