The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Goa in association with      Public Health Department and Directorate of Social Welfare Panaji organized a Disability Assessment Camp at Asilo Hospital, Mapusa on August 162021 and August 172021 at Hospicio Hospital Margao.

       The purpose of the camp was to provide disability certificate to those person with disabilities who do not have disability certificate from Bardez and Salcete Taluka. 

        Orthopaedic Surgeon, Opthalmist, ENT Surgeon, Occupational Therapist from Asilo and Hospicio Hospital assessed the Persons with disabilities for issuance of disability certificate. The people benefitted from the camp at Asilo Hospital – total people registered 75 out of which 03 with hearing and speech impaired, 31 Physical Disability and 6 visual impaired while 89 people registered at Hospicio Hospital Margao,  out of which 07 were hearing and Speech impaired, 35 with Physical Disability and 10 were visual impaired. 

       All the persons with disabilities who have been issued certificate of 40 per cent and above disability can avail the benefit of postal ballot. The disability certificate can also be used to avail the benefits of the Government under various schemes implemented for the welfare of Person with disabilities.
