With panchayat elections around the corner, an awareness on the program on the role of panchayat, Gram sabha and people’s participation in panchayat affairs was held in Chicalim panchayat. The program was organised by Chicalim Bio crusaders group. Cyril Fernandes, Convenor of Chicalim Bio-Crusaders group said that this programme will benefit locals to know their role and much needed information about panchayat.
We conduct a number of programs in the village. During election we get numerous questions, so to create awareness we conducted the program. We are happy with the response we got from across Goa and youth who have taken an interest. We wanted people and youth to participate and this is a step forward.
