
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant today launched NISHTHA, a capacity building programme to improve quality of School Education through Integrated Teacher Training at Secretariat Porvorim.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the main objective of the NISHTHA programme is to equip and motivate the teachers to encourage and foster critical thinking among students. Goa, he said ranks highest in terms of its infrastructure at school levels and human resources at primary, secondary and higher secondary levels and this NISHTHA 2.0 will definitely help in the mentoring of teachers, and for timely upgradation of teachers which is important to work for all round development of the children.
The NISHTHA 2.0 training will be conducted through online mode i.e. DIKSHA app or DIKSHA portal. This training is mandatory for all secondary and higher secondary school teachers. The total no of teachers to be covered for NISHTHA 2.0 are 7138 for the annual year 2021-22.NISHTHA 2.0 encompasses of 12 courses covering generic concerns and 1 pedagogical concerns in seven subjects namely Science, Social Science, Mathematics and available in Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit and English language each teacher and school head at secondary level are expected to complete all 12 generic courses and one Pedagogy course as per their subject of interest
Similarly, each generic course will be of 3 hours and pedagogy course will be of 12 hours. Since the course is online the teachers may complete the training as per their convenient time. The course will commence from 10th August 2021 and every month there will be 3 modules to complete till the month of November 2021 and one Pedagogy concern module to be completed in the month of December 2021. The teachers will be given certificates on completion of the course only if he/she scores minimum 70% marks.
