He said “On the occasion of yet another Festival of Lights – Deepawali – I am glad to send to our Hindu brethren, in my name and on behalf of the Catholic community of Goa, our warm greetings and wishes for a truly joyful Festival. On this feast that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, of truth over falsehood and of light over darkness, it is my sincere wish and prayer that we, the people of this beautiful land, coming from various religious and cultural backgrounds, may become concrete witnesses of harmony and respect for one another and may work hand in hand for the integral development of this our beautiful State. At this time of uncertainty, may we come together to work for the needy and the suffering, especially those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and also learn to create a proper balance between human needs and the natural environment around us.
