CM DECLARES 15 DAY STATE LEVEL CURFEW WITHOUT USING THE WORD “LOCKDOWN”
The Govt on Friday announced a 15 day State Level Curfew without using the word lockdown. The curfew begins from 9am Sunday 9 May and will extend till 6 am Monday 24 May, Chief Minister announced on Friday. All essential commodities will be available during these 15 days from 7 am to 1 pm. Restaurant will give takeaways from 7am to 7 pm. There will be no restrictions on medical stores.
All private functions including weddings stand cancelled. The detailed order regarding the curfew will be issued by Collectors by 5 pm on Saturday. Police have been given strict instructions to enforce the curfew and book people under relevant sections. RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for those visiting Goa or proof of vaccination is needed.
All people have been asked not to move out of their houses and to take personal responsibility to avoid Covid due to high positivity rate of 51%. CM said he felt bad that police had to use lathis against those who were roaming despite covid restrictions.
