
The Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant distributed sanction orders to the beneficiaries under the Ex-gratia relief to the families of Covid -19 victims Sand also under Covid-19 relief fund for the beneficiaries of marginalized Sector, yesterday.
The Chief Minister in his address said that his Government is of the common man and committed for welfare of common man. Covid pandemic has badly affected the socio economic life of the people in the State. Many families have lost their family member, on the other hand traditional businessmen suffered due to lack of business, he said and added that the Government has decided to help them as its commitment towards common man.
Government has implemented various schemes in the interest of the people. The adverse situation due to covid pandemic was compounded with flood. However, Government has overcome the situation and did not neglect the common person. Those who have not getting the benefit now will get soon he informed.
Minister for Social Welfare Shri Milind Naik while speaking said that, due to covid many of our Goans have suffered – be it job, business, head of the family, other family members etc. The Government has decided to help those who have lost their earning member by formulating a scheme to extend support to them.
Under Ex-gratia relief to the families of Covid -19 Scheme around 471 people applied and out of which 349 applications were sanctioned under which each beneficiary will get Rs 2 lakh as relief assistance. Due to covid protocol only 50 beneficiaries were given sanction orders in this function. Under the other scheme a number of applications were received out of which 100 beneficiaries were given sanction orders at the hands of the Chief Minister today. Rest of the beneficiaries will get their orders through taluka level offices and at Village Panchayats, he informed.
