Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant in the presence of MLA Shri Atanasio Monserrate inaugurated the renovated Annexe building and church Hall of Nossa Senhora De Ajuda Church, Ribandar today.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said, Goa is renowned for its rich tradition of unity, peace and communal harmony. Let us on this auspicious occasion reaffirm our commitments to uphold and further enrich this glorious tradition.
“We must take all possible steps to integrate the diverse sections of the society in order to maintain peace and tranquillity and the prevailing communal harmony, peaceful co-existence and fraternal relations among different religions. Linguistic denominations should be further promoted and strengthened. Goa has a truly glorious history and a distinct culture and identity, and the people are educated, aware and receptive to new ideas, Chief Minister added.
The interior and furnishing work such as renovation and repair to the Annexe 450 years old structure building of Our Lady of Ajuda Church and Church hall of Nossa Senhora De Ajuda Church at Ribandar was undertaken by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) at a cost of Rupees 1.40 crores by maintaining heritage look of the structure and preserving original architectural feature.
Deputy Mayor Shri Vasant Agashikar , Shri Harish Adkonkar, MD, GSIDC also spoke on the occasion.
Rev. Fr. Francisco Dias welcomed, Shri Newton De Souza compered while Shri Domnic Fernandes later proposed vote of thanks.
