The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant recently announced that the foundation stone for the new Raj Bhavan will be laid on Statehood day. Reacting to the announcement, Micheal Lobo. Leader of Opposition said, “Government should go slow on Infrastructure growth in the state, especially when there is less income in the Government Treasury. Also, Goan women didn’t received pension on time, the CM should think first before building the New Raj Bhavan.”
Also, reacting to the proposed construction, Rahul Mhambre, AAP leader tweeted:
How can the Government even explore such mindless ideas when it can’t pay the meager monthly Rs 2000 to women and differently-abled. After plundering 5.59 cr on swearing-in, here comes another.
MP Francisco Sardinha took neutral ground and responded to reporters saying, ‘I am both for and against the construction of a new Raj Bhavan in Goa. For if it is in bad shape, against if it is strong. It is a heritage house and the Government has no right to construct a new one.
