  3. CONGRESS AUCTIONED THEIR LEADER OF OPPOSITION SEAT: TANAVADE TAKES ON OPPOSITION

BJP leaders addressed their party workers on Friday evening. BJP party President Sadanand Shet Tanavade appreciated their hard work and said the hard work and efforts has led to the win and people of Goa placed their trust in BJP. He also warned his fellow party workers not to sit on the laurels, but plan ahead for the forthcoming local body polls.

Tanavade spoke of the pre-electoral journey when the Goan landscape was flooded with hoardings. He said that BJP usually wouldn’t put up hoardings but were pressurised to do so because of the others. He made scathing remarks at the opposition TMC, AAP, and Congress, saying that they were took up ‘a temporary booth like at a jatra’ and had to return home post elections.

To the Congress, he said, the party chose a leader who was taken into the party 15 days prior to the elections. Taking a dig at Lobo, he said, “Lobo made money at the cost of BJP and Congress made him the leaders based on his spending capacity. They auctioned the leader of opposition seat.”

To Amit Patkar, he questioned if party workers from all 40 constituencies knew who Patkar was.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant addressing his party workers said that BJP will continue to be in power for another 15 years. He took a jab at Digambar Kamat and Lobo saying that, “We are not afraid of any Opposition leader. Digambar might have got scared. A few days ago, the Leader of Opposition, Lobo said that he will form the Government in 10 months, but ask him to wait for another 15 years.”
