
MAPUSA: Congress’ nationwide ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ campaign to create a public awareness against inflation in the country concludes. This five-day campaign against price rise, ‘Mhargayecho Jagor’ (price-rise vigil) was carried out in Siolim constituency on Monday. It saw the active participation of the various Congress blocks, districts, frontal organisations and cells working together to make this campaign a great success. The Siolim Block Congress thanked the party leaders and party workers for coming out in large numbers. At the same time they highlighted how the locals were eagerly looking forward to a Congress government to solve the people’s problems.While the North Goa Congress District Committee President, Vijay Bhike highlighted that during the last five days of the campaign they met with locals, shopkeepers, businessmen, taxi and rickshaw drivers and distributed pamphlets to create an awareness on the issue of price rise. “The five-day awareness campaign was a great success. We received an overwhelming response from the people we met across the constituencies in North Goa. It is high time people realise that day there is a need for Congress to be voted back into power. We require the people of Goa to support us and the party workers should work hard for Congress to emerge victorious in the upcoming elections,” said Bhike. In Siolim, the Block Congress Committee kicked off their campaign at the market. The GPCC Vice President, Dr Pramod Salgaokar and Babi Bagkar; North Goa district President, Vijay Bhike; Block President Siolim, Parvati Nagvekar; State Youth Secretary, Yash Kochrekar; Mahila President, Manisha; Youth President, Adv. Roshan Chodankar; Sevadal President, Dattaram Pednekar and Francis Fernandes were present during the campaign.
