The Captain of Ports Department has informed that, most of the boats operating on the beaches are left uncovered, thereby collecting rainwater in these boats during monsoon, which could be potential source of mosquito breeding and public nuisance and impending source of health hazards.

Therefore, all owners/masters of the barges, shipyards/drydocks, passenger launches, water sports boats, ferry boats, tindels of fishing trawlers and operators of the mechanized and non mechanized craft including the tourist boats etc. plying in the inland waters of Goa and on the beaches are directed to ensure that all the boats are properly covered during the monsoon season and there will be no stagnation of water in the boats. Violation of the above will be viewed seriously.
