DGP Goa, Jaspal Singh began his State visit in Margao. “I have great attachment to Margao because I was SP twice here. I will be here for Eid,” he said. Addressing the community and other officers, he discussed various issues and problems. “Since I took over, I will be visiting all towns and even rural areas to strengthen the police force. I’m interacting with citizens to understand their issues,” he elaborated on issues.
He said that Goa is a tourist destination and will ensure issues are solved. He added that written complaints can be sent to sub-divisional office or SP office and ‘we will try to solve the issue.’
Speaking to Singh at the meeting, Goa Muslim Forum, President Iftikar spoke about Goa’s secular environment suggested the formation of a Muhallah community to maintain harmony. Councillor Mahesh Amonkar raised the issue of illegal tenancy issues and construction.
