  3. DIRECTOR OF PANCHAYAT ISSUES NEXT HEARING ON 5 APRIL IN OLD GOA CASE

The Director of Panchayat had fixed a hearing for the Old Goa Panchayat and the builder in the illegal structure within the heritage precinct case on Friday. The builder had filed for a petition against the revocation order and asked for scrapping of the demolition order of the Panchayat prior. The Save Old Goa Committee filed an intervention via a caveat before the High Court of Bombay. All these parties were present on Friday for the hearing. The Committee asked for additional time to study the documents of the builder to understand the grounds for his request for the scrapping of demolition. The Addl Director of Panchayats granted the extension and issued a fresh date of hearing on 5 April.
