Reacting to Pramod Sawant’s fallacious statement that the Sawant Sarkar is the first Govt to give free water in India Aam Aadmi Party Goa reminded the CM that Arvind Kejriwal has been providing 20,000 KL water a month for free to Delhi residents since 2015. Once again we see the BJP stealing ideas from AAP and trying to sell it as their own. While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, AAP would like to remind Pramod Sawant that every Goenkar household knows by now that he is playing a desperate game of catch up with AAP.
In one of Arvind Kejriwal’s first moves after coming to power the Aam Aadmi Govt declared that domestic consumers in Delhi will receive 20,000 KL water a month for free to Delhi residents. This scheme benefits six lakh houses in Delhi. The plan didn’t just end there with the Delhi Jal Board working hard to ensure this water supply reaches all corners of Delhi. This is a far cry from the Sawant Sarkars track record where the Har Ghar Jal scheme has proven to be a farce and Goan villages are suffering under severe water shortages both due to supply and faulty old pipelines.
The Sawant Sarkars free water jumla was welcomed with hilarity as Goenkars asked him “Sawant Bab first provide water than make promises of free water”. North Goan areas like Bardez face chronic water problems and it’s a common complaint to find burst pipelines impacting Goenkars lives. South Goa as well faces regular supply based disruptions. In many villages water security is a dream as villagers are dependent on pumps from wells. In many cases these pumps break down and villagers face an uncaring bureaucracy to get them fixed. Just last month an AAP team under AAP Leader Gourisha Gaonkar had to intervene in Nunem village Sanguem to get their water supply restarted. This story is repeated in village after village across Goa.
“We welcome the fact the CM is finally trying to provide services to Goenkars. It is a great thing that even Pramod Sawant has realised that the Kejriwal model is the only thing that can save Goa. Arvind Kejriwal was the first CM in India to provide free water to the residents of his state, Delhi in 2015.Today 6 years later finally we see that the BJP, whose leaders are so arrogantly against providing Goenkars with services, deserve, forced to accept the Kejriwal Model, even if it is out fear of losing their posts.” said Rahul Mhambre AAP Goa Convenor. “It is very sad however that Goenkars are still not getting water supply and that Pramod Sawant’s Har Ghar Jal initiative has failed miserably. It’s time the CM ensure every Goenkar gets water in his house,” added Mhambre
AAP will announce more such measures to benefit the people of Goa under guidance of Arvind Kejriwal. The BJP and Pramod Sawant will first have to catch with AAP’s intentions of bringing good governance to Goa. Goenkars have understood that only the AAP model can secure Goa’s future” Mhambre said
