FIR REGISTERED FOR ORGANISING BULL FIGHTS AT PERNEM

PERNEM: The Pernem Police registered an FIR against two persons for organising bull fights at Dandoswado, Mandrem in Pernem taluka.

As per Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi, daily intelligence was being collected to curb bull fights in Pernem. Accordingly, on Wednesday morning information was received that bull fights were organised at Mandrem and one bull had died in the said bull fight.

Police immediately swung into action and found out the details of the accused organisers.

An offence under section 429 read with 34 IPC and section 11(m)(ii)(n) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act was registered immediately and investigation was carried out.

Intelligence was collected and accused persons ie owners of bulls namely Prajyot Dnyaneshwar Masurkar, a resident of Parra, Bardez and Ajim Abdulla Mujawar of Kudal, Sindhudurg in Maharashtra have been placed under arrest.

Police have already traced the dead bull and the post-mortem has been conducted while the second bull has been subjected for medical treatment.

PI Dalvi informed that in future too strict action will be initiated against persons organising bull fights.

This is second incident where bull was killed in the bull fight in Pernem taluka, the first being reported on 4th January 2021.
