Slamming the opposition parties for not raising the issue in the Assembly during the current session, D’Mello said, ‘The opposition are on their knees before the government. They seem to be playing to the gallery, publicity and not for the issues plaguing Goa.’ Demanding a probe into the dubious process used to procure the license, D’Mello emphasized, ‘The government must hold a clean and open enquiry into the matter.’
Raising his pitch to accentuate the duplicity of BJP administration, Goa TMC leader Samil Volvaiker said, ‘Goan entrepreneurs find it difficult to procure a single license whereas VIPs like Shania connected with the BJP acquire it without the required documents.’
Highlighting the BJP government’s indifference towards the Old Goa illegal construction issue, Volvaiker said, ‘The illegal construction is in total violation of CRZ rules and the norms set by the ASI. Despite the issue being transferred to the Director of Panchayat, they haven’t provided a specific deadline to solve the issue.’
