The Goa Trinamool Congress leaders today called out the Pramod Sawant-led BJP Government’s failure to come clean on the illegal license issued to the restaurant owned by kin of Union Minister Smt Smriti Irani. Goa TMC leaders Trajano D’Mello, Samil Volvaiker, and Mariano Rodrigues addressed the media at the party office in Panaji.
Questioning the process of procuring license, Goa TMC leader Trajano D’Mello said, ‘How could the liquor license be provided before the restaurant got its food license. Highlighting the administrative failure of the BJP government, he further added, ‘When it comes to the ministers of the BJP, all the due process of the law ceases to exist.’ Infact the BJP misuses the Judicial system to suppress Justice .
Slamming the opposition parties for not raising the issue in the Assembly during the current session, D’Mello said, ‘The opposition are on their knees before the government. They seem to be playing to the gallery, publicity and not for the issues plaguing Goa.’ Demanding a probe into the dubious process used to procure the license, D’Mello emphasized, ‘The government must hold a clean and open enquiry into the matter.’
Raising his pitch to accentuate the duplicity of BJP administration, Goa TMC leader Samil Volvaiker said, ‘Goan entrepreneurs find it difficult to procure a single license whereas VIPs like Shania connected with the BJP acquire it without the required documents.’
Highlighting the BJP government’s indifference towards the Old Goa illegal construction issue, Volvaiker said, ‘The illegal construction is in total violation of CRZ rules and the norms set by the ASI. Despite the issue being transferred to the Director of Panchayat, they haven’t provided a specific deadline to solve the issue.’
Goa Trinamool Congress demands that the Pramod Sawant-led government set up an independent inquiry to probe the illegal license issued to a Dead Man
