Governor of Goa, Shri P.S Sreedharan Pillai has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Goa particularly the Muslim brethren on the auspicious festive occasion of Id-ul-Zuha.
In his message, the Governor said “Id-ul-Zuha or Bakrid is also known as the feast of supreme sacrifice and is one of the most significant Islamic festivals. It commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in order to submit to the will of God. All religions preach the universal values of love, peace and brotherhood. Let this festival foster the spirit of unity in diversity and strengthen the secular fabric of our country.
Further he said, Goa is renowned for its rich tradition of unity and communal harmony. Let us on this auspicious occasion reaffirm our commitments to uphold and further enrich this glorious tradition.
This year while rejoicing on this auspicious occasion, let us remember to strictly follow all the health protocols and guidelines and to stay safe. May this Id-ul-Zuha bring renewed peace, prosperity and happiness to one and all, the Governor concluded.
