Governor, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai visited Pernem taluka as part of “Sampurna Goa Yatra” today.  

 Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said the real picture of our nation is the culture, tradition and hard work of villages. He complimented Goans for their hard work and said after visiting the villages in Goa I have realized that Goa is the most beautiful State in India. People of Goa are good by heart. Goa has the highest Per Capita income and is the only state which follows the Uniform Civil Code he added. 

The Governor speaking further said that people are supreme in Democracy and it gives me immense pleasure to serve the people of Goa. Service to people is service to God he said and assured to work for the welfare of Goans.

He urged people to work together for the betterment of others to make Goa a self-reliant State. Highlighting the Gram Swaraj initiative by Mahatma Gandhi, Governor further said that one can see hard work, commitment to society and enthusiasm in Village areas. 

During his visit to Mandrem Governor, Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai interacted with Sarpanch and Panch members of Mandrem, Morjim, Agarwada, Parsem and Tuvem Panchayat and discussed various issues faced by the locals like drinking water shortage, construction of proper Roads, Guidelines for Construction on Hills among other issues were raised by Sarpanchas and members. After listening to their issues the Governor assured the local elected representatives full assistance in their future endeavours.

Shri. Jit Arolkar MLA thanked the Governor of Goa for visiting Pernem and Mandrem Taluka. He said I will work to my full ability to address all the issues faced by the locals.  

Governor disbursed financial assistance of Rs. 25000/- each to 7 Dialysis patients of Mandrem Taluka.

Earlier, the Governor offered prayers and took the blessing of Bagawati Temple. The Governor was received by Pernem MLA Shri. Praveen Arlekar 

Later in the evening the Governor Shri P.S. Sreedharan Pillai visited Querim Panchayat and interacted with Sarpanch and Panch Members of Arambol, Paliem, Kerim and Virnoda Panchayat and discussed various issues faced by locals. 

Additional Collector, Shri. Gopal Parsekar, Deputy Collector Shri. Deepak Vaigankar, Mamlatdar of Pernem, Shri. Anand Malik, Secretary to Governor Shri. Mihir Vardhan, sarpanchas and other members of Panchayat were present on the occasion.
