Ponda Muncipal Council (PMC) meeting was held today where in various resolutions were taken with respect to development work. Speaking to media after meeting, Chairperson Ritesh Naik said various development works would be launched with the support and cooperation of GSUDA. This has been discussed with Agriculture Minister Ravi Naik and Minister Vishwajeet Rane. PMC has passed a resolution to appoint consultant through GSUDA for preparing master plan of Ponda City. Under this traffic management, parking and issues such as garden developments, joggers track etc  related to people  will be given solution.

Ritesh Naik further said the construction of pending work on the Golden Jubilee Project would be handed over to GSUDA for completion of its work.

Similarly PMC proposed construction of a new building in place of the  old Shastri hall building  through IDMT scheme of GSUDA.

Chairperson Ritesh Naik further said PMC faces hardship in disposal of sewerage and therefore PMC has proposed with GSUDA for purchase of 10 cubic metre (10,000 litre) night soil tanker under fund of GSUDA.

PMC has also proposed purchase of crane under Disaster Management Fund which is necessary in monsoon time at time of distress. He said stray cattle management  issue  would be sorted out soon with already Rs 18 lakh tender has been floated by PMC  for construction of cattle shed at Nirankal Bethora with initiative of NGO. One vehicle will purchased under GSUDA scheme for shifting of stray cattle at Nirankal.
