The Para National Championship is taking place at Indore this month from 27 to 30 April 2022 and the Goan team is all set to make an impact at the tournament.
However, the Goa para players are in a dire need of facilities and equipment to effectively train for the nationals.
Vikram Verlekar, President, South Goa Table Tennis Council, Managing Director at Ulhas Jewellers Pvt. Ltd and Sports, Chairman at Vidhya Vikas Mandal, stepped forward to help the players with essential equipment. Verlekar handed over two sports Neo Fly wheelchairs worth around Rs.96000 to the Goa Para Table Tennis Committee on Saturday at the premises of Pinnacle Academy Fatorda.
At the request of the Goa Para Table Tennis committee, the Pinnacle Academy and its Coaches have agreed to help Para team from Goa to prepare to participate in the Nationals.
The Pinnacle Table Tennis Academy was launched by South Goa Table Tennis Council (SGTTC) under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and Sports Authority of Goa ( SAG ). The Pinnacle Table Tennis Academy is one of the most prominent TT training centres in India for professional training and high-performance zones.
Vikram Verlekar President of SGTTC who launched Pinnacle Academy mentioned that Sports in all form needs to be promoted in Goa. “Para sports requires funds for its all-round growth and for the sporting activities to go on smoothly, we need “Sponsors”. I appeal to all Organisation to wholeheartedly come forward and “Sponsor” the Para Sports they need our help..He wished success to Goa TT ParaSports team in nationals.”
