The Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant said the IT industry bounced back strongly and is playing important role in reviving the State economy overcoming the Covid situation in the State which was challenging for every industry.
Dr. Sawant was speaking at the Goa Technology Association Award function organized by GTA at Hotel Hilton at Kadamba Plateau Ribandar yesterday.
 The Chief Minister conferred Awards to the recipient of the Awards.
The organizing of such an event by GTA with such big participation is encouraging he said and added that he is happy with young leaders who are excelling in the IT sector and his Government would like to support their endeavor. The Government would also like to work with GTA to accomplish the objective of Swayampurna Goa he reiterated. 
The IT sector has the potential to create employment avenues that have been proved during critical situations like the covid pandemic. He said the Government will strive to provide 100% placement for IT passed youths in Goa. He complimented GTA for completing four successful years of its inception.
Minister for Information & Technology Smt. Jennifer Monserrate in her address said that as a Minister for IT she intends to promote, support IT industries in the State and put them on the world map. To accomplish this her Government strives to create resources and opportunities for the IT sector. She thanked GTA for extending a helping hand to the Government in achieving its objective. The IT Department has schemes and policies for the IT sector she added.
President Goa Technology Association Shri Milind Anvekar while addressing said that the objective behind establishing Goa Technology Association was to provide the requisite fillip to the IT ecosystem in Goa. The GTA with the cooperation of the State Government succeeded in making strides by taking the Goan IT industry on the national and international level. The GTA he said intends to work on policy advocacy, talent and market development, market and industry development. He said GTA is in dialogue with Goa Government in terms of policy implementation both startup and IT. Talent development is very important and we have to work on talent development keeping in view our future needs.
