Kavlem Panchayat distributed around 3000 garbage collection dustbins. He said from Monday on wards the garbage collecting workers would visit every ward of panchayat . There are nine wards in Panchayat. Sarpanch Rajesh Kavlekar said this is attempt to make our village garbage free. He said, the Panchayat did not own any land of its own and with cooperation and NOC of Shantadurga Temple Committee trying to set up compost unit, however some people opposing garbage disposal unit however as per Court order no body can object garbage disposal or compost unit.
He said green dust bins will collect dry garbage while wet garbage is sent to Saligao Plant. Separate bags would be issued for wet garbage collection.
