Do not bring politics in the way of cleanliness. Keeping our cities clean should be our priority stated Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant  after flagging off nine garbage vehicles today. 
These vehicles were procured by the Goa State Urban Development Agency at a cost of Rs. 1.25crores under the Swachh Bharat Mission.  These vehicles are provided for nine Municipality Councils all over the State for transporting garbage from city to dump yard. Those Municipalities who received the benefit of the vehicles include Valpoi, Mormugao, Sanguem, Cuncolim, Sakhalim, Quepem, Pednem, Mapusa and Bicholim.
The Chief Minister further speaking said that the Government intends to keep the State clean & green. The stakeholders of Municipalities have an important role to play in keeping their respective areas clean . People from all Municipality areas and from local bodies all over State need to co-operate with the Government in keeping Goa clean. The Government under Swachh Bharat Mission initiates steps towards encouraging Urban and Local bodies by providing funds to make mission Goa clean, the Chief Minister added.

Sucheta Shirvoikar, BMC Shri Pundalik Falari, VMC Smt Shaikh Shaizin, CMC, CEO Smt Voilet Gomes, Director DMA Shri Gurudas Pilernkar, State Mission Manager GSUDA Smt. Vincy Rebello, Manager Projects DMA Shri Hussain Mujavar, Projects Officer Shri Shaiesh Sail, Engineer GSUDA Shri Vivekanand Desai were among those who were present on the ocassion.
