Mukta Drishti Foundation (MDF) is the Charitable wing and a registered NGO promoted by Mukta Opticians founded in 1977 by Sarsolkar Brothers. MDF has been focussing mainly on Eye care since its inception, but has recently diversified into other domains in Healthcare which are being developed in collaboration with leading Technology providers for Oncology, Pathology, Radiology etc. Other areas of work at MDF includes Education & Capacity Building, Social Development & Welfare, Environment & sustainable Community Building & Animal Welfare.

MDF flagged off and launched its Dedicated AmbuVan on 11th August 2022, for Testing & detection of Diabetic Retinopathy & detecting early stages of Diabetic Foot issues. Mr Nilesh Cabral, Honorable Minister, PWD/Law & Judiciary was the Chief Guest for the launch program and Guest of Honor Shri Gaurish Dhond, IPDG, Rotary District 3170, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Goa, launched the Booklet of Mukta Drishti Foundation, detailing projects conducted by them. Special Invitees were Dr. Anand Dalvi, Secretary, IMA, Tiswadi. Dr Devika Lawande and Dr Tejas Kamat. Dr Pradeep Naik , ex Dean of GMC, sent a Video message to congratulate MDF for its initiative.

The AmbuVan is equipped with Cloud based Pathological Devices to Test Random Sugar, HBA1C, Haemoglobin, B.P. and Ophthalmological devices like Fundus Camera on Phone, where Trained Technicians and operators can detect prevalence of D.R. and send patients for further check-ups to the specialists. The AmbuVan is also equipped with Foot Sensitivity Checking Devices to monitor Diabetic Neuropathic Foot issues. It is hoped that this project can be scaled up with the support of CSR sponsors so that within a period of five years the entire Adult population of Goa can be screened.

MDF’s Diabetic Testing Mobile AmbuVan project is supported by Indian Medical Association, Goa, Research Society for the study of Diabetes in India, Goa Chapter, and the project will be supervised and headed by India’s leading Diabetologist, Dr Tejas Kamat, Director & Consultant, Diabetes Care, Goa.
MDF has conducted more than 1500 eye camps so far, screening over 5,00,000 people and provided free spectacles to more than 1,00,000 people identified with refractive errors and conducted Free Cataract and other surgeries in collaboration with leading hospitals for over 5000 people.
