It is my pleasure to be here for this World Rabies Day which is the death Anniversary of Scientist Lous Pasteur who first discovered the vaccine for Rabies. This day is celebrated as World Rabies Day throughout the World. Goa is the ideal place to celebrate this event because this is the 1st state in India which has eliminated human Rabies. I am told that there is no Rabies cases since 2018. Shri.Manohar Parrikar started Mission Rabies project when he was the Chief Minister during 2013. This project of Goa is now being well recognised by the international scientific organizations like WHO and being published in international Journals. I congratulate the Department of AH&VS and Mission Rabies for making Goa Rabies free. I thank Rotary club of Miramar for supporting this project.
I appeal to the children, many of you have come, and the Goan public to be aware of the impact of this project and dog management and help to control dog population as well. I have now inaugurated the Static Point Vaccination Campaign for 2022 and I request all pet owners to get benefitted by getting your dogs vaccinated on this day. This free vaccination is going to take place in all the panchayats of 7 talukas of Goa namely Bardez, Salcete,Tiswadi, Marmagoa, Quepem, Ponda and Sangeum .
