NCP WILL CONTEST MUNICIPAL AND PANCHAYAT POLLS IN GOA: VERMA
MAPUSA: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) national spokesman and Goa observer Narendra Verma said that the party will contest the local self-bodies elections in Goa even as party had fielded candidates for Zilla Panchayat (ZP) polls.
Verma who was in Mapusa said that he NCP will support the constructive decisions of the government but will oppose projects such as railway double tracking, coal dumping and such issues where local people will be disturbed.
To a question, Varma admitted there were differences between NCP State president Jose Philip D’Souza and general secretary Sanjay Barde, but added that these difference would be sorted out. Barde is doing a good job, he opined.
When asked whether he would buy a plot in Goa, Verma said he has been given the responsibility by NCP President Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel to streghthen the party organsiation in the State and he will fulfill it. “When I come on a business trip I will talk business,” he said.
