A team from Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry met Hon.Minister of Cooperation Shri GovindGaude in the Secretariat and submitted a representation for extending the One Time settlement Scheme ( OTS) of Govt of Goa and extending the same to Cooperative Banks & Societies. This Scheme was introduced by the Govt of Goa in 2014 and had expired on 31st March 2021.

4574  Mining affected borrowers had benefited from this scheme with a disbursal of Rs 98.63 Cr from Nationalised Banks through EDC. However many cases are still pending from Loans taken from Cooperative Banks & Societies which are reluctant to waive off part of the loans. The Hon. Minister Mr Gaude gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the matter will be sorted out with the Cooperative Banks & Registrar of Cooperative Societies. He also assured to take up the extension of the OTS scheme with the Chief Minister. Goa Chamber was represented by Hon Treasurer Shri ChandrakantGawas and Director Mr Sanjay Amonkar.
