The platinum jubilee celebrations began at St Britto High School with an inaugural eucharistic celebration. The Platinum Jubilee Memorial Plaque was unveiled by the Chief Guest Fr. Roland Coelho, Provincial of the Goa Jesuit Province and the Guest of Honor Mr. Joshua D’Souza, MLA of the Mapusa Constituency. The jubilee logo too was later unveiled. The guest later witnessed the release of 75 balloons by 75 students of std 10.
The liturgy very aptly highlighted the significance of the jubilee celebration. Fr. Anthony da Silva, an alumnus of the school spoke about the humble beginnings of the school in his homily.
The Eucharist was followed by a short program. The ex-headmasters, assistant headmasters and ex-staff members were felicitated during the program. The students entertained the audience with their dances. The teachers also performed a well-choreographed dance beautifully depicting life in school. The musical talent of the students was showcased through instrumental pieces and through a live student band. The audience were also able to see and listen to what a few ex-students had to say about their alma mater in an audio-visual presentation. The event was brought to a close with the singing of the school anthem.
