Margao – It is the duty of every Government Officer to process the proposals of the Municipal Council. I will take up the matter with higher authorities and immediately convene a meeting to resolve the pending issues of Cuncolim Municipality, assured Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat to the nine Councillors who called on him today.

A delegation of nine Councillors led by Chairperson Dr. Laxman Naik, Vice Chairpserson Anthony Vaz, Councillors Gauri Dessai, Uddesh Dessai, Lendry Mascarenhas, Jamira Pires, Rekha Fernandes, Raimundo D’Souza and John Dias along with former Minister Joaquim Alemao and Congress Leader Yuri Alemao met Digambar Kamat and presented a Memorandum to him highlighting various issues and difficulties faced by the Council related to developmental works in Cuncolim and requested for his urgent intervention.

I want to categorically state that the days are numbered of BJP Government and Congress Government will be formed in 2022. It is only during Congress regime in 2007-2012 that Cuncolim saw development Digambar Kamat said.

I am thankful to Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat for giving us time and listening to our issues. We will stand united and work for betterment of Cuncolim said Chairperson Dr. Laxman Naik.

Our Council is the only Congress Council in Goa which is formed with absolute majority. We are committed to Cuncolkars for development and giving them best and timely service. I am thankful to all the Councillors for their unity and integrity said Yuri Alemao.

All the Councillors brought to the notice of Leader of Opposition about the partisan and biased approach of the Chief Officer & Municipal Engineer of the Cuncolim Municipal Council who are trying to stop or delay the developmental works coming under pressure from the local MLA and Government in power.
