The Goa Commission for SC/ST has decided to celebrate ‘The International Day of the World’s Indigenous People’ also known as “World Tribal Day” on August 9, 2021 from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. at Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Fatorda, Margoa Goa.
 The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will grace the occasion in the presence of Minister for Tribal Welfare, Chairperson of the Goa Commission for SC/ST and Chairman of Goa State Finance & Development Corporation Ltd.
The Commission will felicitate 05 members of SC/ST community for their exemplary contributions to society during the Covid-19 pandemic viz. Shri Kalidas Bhomkar, Carambolim, Tiswadi; Shri Ratnakant Velip, Cola, Canacona; Shri Anil Krishna Malekar, Sattari; Shri Satish S. Korgaonkar, Verla-Bardez and Shri Sakharam Korgaonkar, Mandrem, Pernem.
The Keynote SpeakerDr. Utkarsh Betodkar, State Epidemiologist will speak on “Need of social participation and community engagement approaches for the health in rural and remote areas: A Goan Perspective on Pandemic Experience”
Shri Arvind Khutkar, Registrar, Coop. Societies will dwelve  on “Role of the Goa Commission for SC/ST for the development of SC/ST in the various fields such as Education, Health, Finance, Cultural, socio-legal etc.: No one is left behind” as informed by department of information and publicity
