The Skilled Center to train youth at Mopa Airport will be starting in September, said Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant and added that alongwith Mopa Airport the Government is completing all other important projects in Pernem.

Dr. Sawant was speaking at the laying foundation stone ceremony for the lift irrigation Scheme under Biodiversity at Mopa  in the presence of Dy. Chief Minister, Shri Manohar Azgaonkar, North Collector, ZP member Smt. Seema Khadpe, Chief engineer Shri Badami, Biodiversity project chairperson Smt. Pallavi Raut .

The Chief Minister appreciating the efforts of Shri Satyavijay Sawant for starting his own nursery in the Village said many NGO’s, environmentalist opposed the Mopa project just because we required cutting of 50 thousands trees for the Mopa project.  The government is planting 5 lakh trees all over the State and in that we are planting 1 lakh trees at Mopa with the help of the central Government.

          Dy. Chief Minister Shri Manohar Azgaonkar in his address said that the government has taken various initiatives in the Agricultural field. The Biodiversity project will help all the villagers in future. Commenting on the benefits of Mopa International Airport to the villagers he said that the residents of Pernem would be given first preference for employment opportunities created at the greenfield airport, which is still in the early stages of construction.
