Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that from July 1, Swayampurna Mitra appointed by the Government under Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa mission will Visit all Village Panchayats to help facilitate people reap benefits under various schemes of the Government. The Chief Minister also said that in a bid to achieve the decisive goal of making Goa self reliant in all sector of human endeavour under Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa mission the Government has appointed 191 government officers as Swayampurna mitra who are working hard to make every Panchayat self reliant.
The Chief Minister was speaking as Chief Guest after distributing 21 sewing machines to needy Women at a function organized by Village Panchayat Assonora in collaboration with Rotary club of Mapusa, under Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swayampurna Goa Mission at Assonora.
Further, the Chief Minister lauded the initiative of Smt Isha Sawant for her excellent work as a swayampurna Mitra for village Panchayat Assonora. He said programs like “Aapda Sakhi’ will make women to deal with emergency situations like Cyclone, landslide and other disasters caused at home and further expressed satisfaction to know that village Panchayat Assonora has already completed this training session for 30 women’s and further added saying that the purpose of appointing Swayampurna Mitra is achieving decisive goal. .
The function was also attended by Shri Nilkhanth Halankar MLA, Smt Sapna Mapari, Smt Isha Sawant, Swayampurna Mitra, Vice Chairman of Zilla Panchayat Smt Diksha Khandolkar,shri Abhijeet Walke Rotary Club Mapusa president, Shri Manish Kedar B.D.O Bardez.
On the occasion the Village Panchayat Assonora in collaboration with Rotary club of Mapusa also felicitated the Booth Level officer for their contribution in conducting and completing survey within 5 to 6 days at the hands of Chief Minister.
Shri Nilkhanth Halankar, MLA in his address said that Assonora Panchayat has undertaken various developmental works till now. He said that the Government is endeavoring to reach out to the needy people under the Mission Swayampurna. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the Panchayat members and Sawampurna Mitra to make the village self-reliant.
