India has made significant progress in the field of information and telecommunications, and in most areas, has successfully implemented the online payment system through the web. In the same series, now all the freight charges of the railways have been arranged to be paid online, which will make it very easy, quick and transparent to pay freight charges and other minor supplementary charges online. It will be possible to pay these fees through the web.

In this regard, the Ministry of Railways has issued guidelines on online freight charges today, April 30. The system will be available to customers through the SBI Payment Gateway through the Freight Business Development Portal. The basic freight charges and other supplementary fares, such as premium freight charges, wagon registration fees, delay charges, push usage charges, siding charges, shunting charges, re-registration charges, transportation change charges, etc., will also be available online 24 hours a day. These guidelines will take effect from May 1, 2021.
