While there was hope that Reginaldo Lourenco would be given a ministerial berth, he landed the IDC Chair. When a reporter asked him if he was fine with this posting, Lourenco quipped, ““Rokdo paulo thinga?” He added that he is working towards his target. He explained, “These are small battles. I will win the main war-that is to bring the best facilities to my people. I know something’s are written in letters of gold for me and I have belief and faith it will happen. My work will continue. It has given me more energy to work. While some cry for not getting it, it pushes me ahead.”
On the issues of bad roads in the industrial estates, he promised to look into it. “I will call for a meeting today itself. Whatever can be done before the monsoons, will look into it. If basic amenities like good roads, light and water are given, industries will come and our people are accommodated,” he promised.
He assured that he will strengthen the existing units. ‘I am not here to give a blind eye or deaf ear. I will look forward to giving what the existing units want and then result is you can accommodate Goans. We always sit with the issue that Goans needs jobs. We will see how best to accommodate them. I will give preference to my constituency but will see about the others too.”
