
The Rotary Club Miramar in collaboration with Mission Rabies India,headed by Dr Murugan & team organized an Art competition at 10 schools across North & South Goa titled ” Three golden Rules to stay safe from Dogs ” for primary & ” Vaccinate dogs to Eliminate Rabies ” for secondary students .
The initiative was with the objective of raising awareness ,about the pivotal necessity of vaccination to Eliminate Rabies.The felicitation and prize distribution event was held at Jnyan Vikas School ,Porvorim.The President of the Rotary Club Miramar ,Rtn.Priti Sheth ,presided over the event ,also present were the Director of Rotary club Miramar Rtn Sonia Bhonsale and the Club secretary Rtn Nikita Raykar. & Rtn Dr Murugan.( director of Mission Rabies)The delegates from Dogtrust Worldwide, England Mr.Owen Sharp ,Dr.Karen Reed, Mr.Brett Llewellyn, Dr.Ian Battersby, Mr.Chris Payne, Dr.Ilona Otter and Mr.Nigel Otter attended the event & felicitated the Finalist with Certificate & Trophies and spoke highly about the work Rotary is doing in the community. President Rtn Priti Sheth informed the audience about the rigorous efforts of the Mission Rabies team which has made Goa Rabies free
The students of Jnyan Vikas School performed a special skit written and directed by Dr.Murugan Appupillai, the Director of Mission Rabies India .The skit was to spread awareness about Staying safe around strays, being friendly & with medical advice on accidental bite.
