  3. THREE DAY ASSEMBLY SESSION PART OF UNDECLARED EMERGENCY BY BJP GOVT. IN GOA – DIGAMBAR KAMAT

Margao – The act of the BJP Government to announce just three day assembly session from Wednesday 28th July to Friday 30th July is part of undeclared emergency by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to supress the voice of the people in Goa charged Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.

The three day session is a mere formality which will effectively allow transaction of government business for only two days with the last day allotted to private members bills and resolutions.

The schedule announced today by the Legislature Secretariat on tabling of questions also exposes the fact that Government is worried and frightened to give resonable time to the opposition to raise questions as the Government has no answers. It is loud and clear that the BJP Government has failed on all fronts and wants to run away from answering the people with facts and figures stated Digambar Kamat.

People of Goa want answers on Covid Disaster, Mhadei, Three Linear Projects, CZMP, Nauxi Marina Project, Economic Disaster caused by faulty policies of Government, rising Unemployment, Resumption of Mining, Revival of Tourism Sector, Academic Action Plan and various other issues claimed Digambar Kamat.

We had agreed to adjourn the last session after firm assurance from the Chief Minister that the remaining days of the session shall be continued once the house gets reconvened on 19th July 2021. But, the Government did not keep up with its word and prorogued the session. I had raised doubts on the intention of the government to suddenly convene the meeting of Business Advisory Committee on 3rd May 2021 without circulating any agenda of the said meeting and had boycotted the said meeting reminded Digambar Kamat.

The act of the Government is nothing but murder of democracy. The illegitimate BJP Government which was formed in undemocratic manner has no moral right to continue in power. We will continue to raise the issues of the people and will have no other option than to come on roads if the government tries to bulldoze the constitutional rights of elected representatives warned Digambar Kamat.
