Transportation of essential medical supplies from Goa Airport resumed uninterrupted

The Airports Authority of India, Goa International Airport and its affiliated Kovid warriors are playing an active role in the fight against Kovid-19 disease by maintaining smooth and uninterrupted transport of essential medical supplies. During the nationwide lockout period, 8 LifeLine Udan flights were operated from Goa Airport to transport essential medical supplies to remote parts of the country with the aim of supporting the fight against Kovid-19. The flight received a total of 2.15 metric tonnes of cargo and 3.96 metric tonnes of cargo at Goa airport. Also in January and February this year, Goa Airport operated 3 sets of covid vaccine for the state of Goa and 1 set of vaccine for the neighboring state of Karnataka.

The fight against covid has not stopped yet and Goa International Airport has intensified its anti-covid campaign to deal with this unprecedented catastrophe caused by the covid infection. . During the second wave of the epidemic, the Goa Airport Administration has been continuously transporting the vaccine vaccine supplied to the State of Goa under the Incoming Goods and ensuring that the vaccine stockpiles are handed over to the Health Department officials in the shortest possible time. 

  1. On 18th April 2021, 13 boxes of Covid Prevention Covishield vaccine arrived from Chennai.
  2. On 30th April 2021, 9 boxes of Covid Prevention Covishield vaccine arrived from Mumbai. 
  3. On 23rd April 2021, 122 kg Kovid-19 test set arrived from Delhi. 

Apart from these arrivals, Goa Airport Administration has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth supply of Glenmark’s Fabiflu to various parts of the country such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Indore, Nagpur, etc. In April this year, a total of 31,955 kg of Fabiflu drugs were shipped across the country from Goa airport under outbound shipments. Fabiflu is used to treat patients with mild to moderate infections of the Covid-19 virus. Despite being the smallest state in the country in size, Goa has been playing a pivotal role in the fight against Kovid-19 disease, and working day and night for it, Goa International Airport is working as an important gateway.

In addition, the Goa Airport Administration is making efforts to organize Covid Prevention Vaccination Camps for Airports Authority of India employees and their dependent families. With the participation and support of the Goa government, airlines, related organizations, and other first-tier employees are working at Goa Airport
