VALEDICTORY FUNCTION OF 27th TMC HELD AT NAVAL WAR COLLEGE, GOA
PANAJI: Valedictory function of the 27th Technical Management Course (TMC) was held at the Naval War College, INS Mandovi, Goa on Saturday. Vice Admiral AK Chawla, PVSM, AVSM, NM, VSM, ADC Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Naval Command presided over the function, handed over certificates to all participants and delivered the valedictory address.
Rear Admiral Sanjay J Singh, AVSM, NM Commandant, Naval War College during his welcome address complimented the course participants on achieving the laid down objectives and standards despite the restrictions due Covid-19. Dr Kavita Laghate, Director, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, also addressed the participants through a recorded video message. Cdr Utsav Malik was awarded the Chief of the Naval Staff Gold Medal for Best Strength Area Paper.
The Naval War College is a premier training institution of the Indian Navy. The TMC is conducted over 20 weeks. It is attended by Commanders and equivalent ranks from the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. This course also included one officer from Mazagon Docks Limited.
The TMC curriculum covers a wide canvas of subjects with primary focus on various areas of Management, at the end of which the participating officers are awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from JBIMS, Mumbai.
During his valedictory address, the FOC-in-C South emphasised on the inherent relationship between leadership and scholarship, and urged participants to utilise modern management tools and processes imbibed at the course, in managing change in all dimensions, including technology, infrastructure, human resource and training. The graduating officers will now occupy key operational and staff billets in the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.
